“Mā, bhikkhave, pāpake akusale vitakke vitakkeyyātha, seyyathidaṃ kāmavitakkaṃ, byāpādavi- takkaṃ, vihiṃsāvitakkaṃ. Taṃ kissa hetu? Nete, bhikkhave, vitakkā atthasaṃhitā nādibrahmacariyakā na nibbidāya na virāgāya na nirodhāya na upasamāya na abhiññāya na sambodhāya na nibbānāya saṃvattanti. “Vitakkentā ca kho tumhe, bhikkhave, ‘idaṃ dukkha’nti vitakkeyyātha, ‘ayaṃ dukkhasamudayo’ti vitakkeyyātha, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodho’ti vitakkeyyātha, ‘ayaṃ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti vitakkeyyātha. “比庫們!你們不應該尋思邪惡不善之尋,即欲尋、瞋尋、加害尋,什麼原因呢?比庫們![因為]這些尋不具利益,不是梵行的基礎,不導向厭、離貪、滅、寂靜、證智、正覺、涅槃。
“比庫們!應該尋思‘這是苦’,當你們尋思時,應該尋思‘這是苦集’,應該尋思‘這是苦滅’,應該尋思‘這是導向苦滅之道’,什麼原因呢?比庫們![因為]這些尋具利益,這些是梵行的基礎,這些導向厭、離貪、滅、寂靜、證智、正覺、涅槃。
